Marjolein Bastin Trinket Box with European Robin, Birds & Bird Seed - MISSING BIRD
This vintage trinket box from Hallmark features the artwork of Marjolein Bastin. The trinket box is blue with birds on top and the lid lifts off to store jewelry or other small items inside.
The trinket box is made to look like a wooden box or crate and has a weathered wood grain finish. The birds are eating bird seed that's spilling out from a flower pot. There's a European robin at the back and two other smaller birds. One bird is perched on the flower pot and the other is perched on the edge of the box.
There was originally a fourth bird, but that piece is missing, as shown in the photos. There's a small piece of double-sided foam or tape where the bird was attached and the bird's feet are sculpted onto the lid even though the bird itself is missing.
The inside of the trinket box has a few pieces of bird seed and says "Each day is a gift with so many new things to discover." Marjolein Bastin's signature is on the front of the box and there are four felt pads on the bottom.
Some of the edges of the box are a little nicked and there's a chip on the corner of the lid at the back.
