Year 7 (1988-1989) Ponies
Year 7 Ponies are My Little Pony toys that were released in the seventh year of G1 production, which was 1988-1989.
New variations for Year 7 include Baby Fancy Pants Ponies, Candy Cane Ponies, Dance 'n Prance Ponies, Loving Family Ponies, Megan and Twice as Fancy Sundance, Merry Go Round Ponies, Newborn Ponies, Perfume Puff Ponies, Playtime Baby Brother Ponies, Baby Ponies and Pretty Pals, Princess Brush 'n Grow Ponies, Sparkle Ponies, Sunshine Ponies, Sweetheart Sister Ponies, and Windy Wing Ponies.
Lots of new playsets were released in Year 7. The Rock-a-Bye Bed and Scrub-a-Dub Tub were furniture sets for adult ponies and the Sweet Dreams Crib was for baby ponies. Another variation of the Show Stable was released. This version is called Home Sweet Home by collectors even though it was called Show Stable on the box itself. A second edition of the Dream Castle called the Lavender Dream Castle was also released. None of the Year 7 playsets came with playset ponies.
A new type of Pony Wear called Pretty Ups had lots of accessories like barrettes, combs, brushes, ribbons and hair extensions to make the ponies pretty. Unlike previous Pony Wear sets, the Pretty Ups did not come with clothing.
