Avon California Perfume Company Vintage 1978 Anniversary Keepsake Cologne Bottle
Avon
This vintage Avon bottle is the California Perfume Co. 1978 Anniversary Keepsake Somewhere eau de cologne. The 1.5-ounce bottle has a lovely Victorian-style label and is tied with a pink bow. The cologne is unused and comes with its original box.
The label on the front has pink roses and the box has matching designs. The back of the box reads:
ONLY THE NAME HAS CHANGED
A tiny business called the California Perfume Company was started in New York City in 1886. Its founder, David H. McConnell, was an enterprising man whose dedication to quality was matched by his love of beauty. In 1939 the business was renamed Avon Products, Inc. and, over the years, by faithful adherence to the high standards established by its founder, has become the largest cosmetics company in the world.
The perfume bottle shows some light wear on the label, but the set is otherwise in excellent vintage condition.
Perfumes and colognes degrade over time, so the cologne may no longer have the same scent it did 40+ years ago and is best used as a collectible for display or for sentimental value rather than to wear as perfume.
